Clear your Blocks to Manifesting with This One Sentence

Tonight I tuned in to watch and listen to one of my favorite authors and speakers, Gabby Bernstein, for her livestream event: The Art of Manifesting 5 Secrets to Attracting What You Want (I was invited to attend after pre-purchasing her upcoming book, The Universe Has Your Back, which is slated to come out this September). I’ve been getting in a lot of quality time with Gabbs recently, including a talk she gave in Houston and her 2016 Summer Retreat: A Way Through Every Block. While the core message of her talk remains fairly consistent (a signal of someone with a strong message, in my opinion), I always take away a new nugget of wisdom.

This time, the nugget came in the form of just a simple sentence - and it was a fill-in-the blank; how great is that?

Let me provide some context. This talk was all about learning the secrets to attracting what you want a.k.a. (by Gabby’s definition), “cultivating joy into your life.” Because, at our core; don’t we all truly want to be happy, regardless of how that happiness manifests in our lives?

To that effect, Gabby lectured on letting go of the specific outcome and focusing on the smaller details and feelings associated with whatever you’re wanting to manifest.

During this process, Gabby let us in on a little secret: Often, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to manifesting the things we want in our lives. We resist by focusing on what we don’t want, rather than what we do want. In short, we sabotage our own happiness with our own patterned thoughts, words and behaviors.

To combat this, Gabby offered a simple, powerful sentence to help you through the block:

I witness that I am resisting my desire to ________ with (thoughts/energy/comparison/attack thoughts) like ________, but I’m willing to see this differently.

You can be as detailed or vague as you like when filling in the blanks (but do remember, sometimes it is our specificity that causes the block - so instead of saying, “my desire to manifest a relationship with Jim,” say, “my desire to manifest a loving relationship.”)

Here are some examples:

  • I witness that I am resisting my desire to have a fulfilling career with thoughts like, “the job I want is already taken”, but I am willing to see this differently.

  • I witness that I am resisting my desire to feel healthy with comparison to others around me, but I am willing to see this differently.

  • I witness that I am resisting my desire to be in a loving romantic partnership with negative thoughts about myself, but I am willing to see this differently.

For me, filling in these blanks is a powerful and exercise. It challenges you to think about what you want differently and to go within to see how your own self-talk or your attitudes towards others may be hindering you from realizing that desire. I challenge you to take two minutes to complete this sentence right now...how do you fill in your blanks?
